We have a small business called Sundrop Jewelry, where we make glass jewelry using solar energy, concentrating sunlight with a giant fresnel magnifying lens.
But aside from this green energy, we really have no idea about the environmental impact of what we’re doing.
I’m starting this blog to share the process of analyzing the environmental footprint of one small product - a pair of Sundrop earrings. Hopefully this will do a few different things. It will help us find ways to reduce the impact of the stuff we make. And, because many resources and impacts are common to a broad spectrum of products, it should help you find ways to reduce the impact of the stuff you make or buy. Finally, it should be an interesting journey, and I hope it proves an interesting read.

Hello. Really like your creations and love the way you go about creating them. Can you tell me what kind of lens you are using and where you purchased it? My interest is in creating solar powered water pumps and sterling engines for our community. Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you.
