While glass is always gorgeous, I admit it can be really hard to display well - and even harder to photograph! (That's over 20 years of experience speaking... 😉)
So I thought it might be helpful to share a few display tips I've figured out over the years...
Tip #1: Display transluscent glass (especially glass jewelry) on a white background. Lighter colors of opaque glass can go on a black or other colored background and show some nice contrast, but with transluscent glass you can actually see the background through the glass, and dark backgrounds just swallow it up, making the jewelry practically invisible. That's why Sundrop Jewelry's cards are white!
Tip #2: I know there are lots of reasons you might decide to take jewelry off my flat branded cards for display in your shop, so if you prefer to hang earrings or necklaces from stands, try to be aware of the surrounding colors. I've seen some lovely displays of Sundrop Jewelry with earring stands arranged among pale sand or gravel, or on a white shelf or wall. I've also seen some arrangements of Sundrops in a dark cabinet that just doesn't do them justice (and where they probably don't sell nearly as well as they would otherwise). Again, the transluscent glass of the earrings means half of the color your eyes see are the background color.
Tip #3: Display a variety of colors! While blues and greens have the fastest sell-through in almost every shop, having a little extra color variety on display draws a lot more customer attention in the first place... and then they buy blue. 😉

Bonus photography tip: Photograph glass that is directly against a white background from an angle or from the side. Because some light passes through transluscent glass, while you can see the background through the glass, when looking straight on you can also see the shadow cast by the glass itself showing through the glass, making the piece look darker and dulling the color. This isn't much of a problem in person, because you automatically move the jewelry (or your head) around to look at it from other angles. But with a photo you can't do that. Take photos from an angle, ideally from the shadowy side, and the photo will be looking through the glass to see the contrast against the white background without catching the shadow.
