I will not be shipping orders tomorrow, Friday Jan 30th, as part of the National Day of Action in solidarity with people in Minnesota and across the US protesting.
I admit, as a single-person online business "closed" is an awkward concept. A "strike" against myself makes no sense. But I am standing with those who can, doing my best to show up for those who aren't able to take the day off work, small shops that can't afford to be closed another day, and asking that you, if you are in a position to do so, do too. Don't go to work. Don't do any shopping with any big stores (or even with me - save it for before or after Jan 30th).
Or, I've seen this take: DO spend the day shopping - with your small, local, struggling community shops. Help keep them afloat so they'll still be there for you in the coming months and years. Either works, either stance makes a statement I can support.
I was just reminded that not going to work but staying home and streaming a show still puts your money in the pockets of the billionaires, so try to avoid that. Show your support for PEOPLE and your community in whatever way works best for you.
