Our newest featured shop is Abrams Claghorn Gallery in Albany, California - a beautiful gallery and shop just a short bike ride from my home. Why did you start your shop?
I opened Abrams Claghorn 8 years ago when the opportunity came about to rent the space, formerly occupied by another gallery. I had been curating shows for a few years and the idea of running my own space was exciting.
What types of products do you carry?
The concept of the space is to sell handmade items created locally. The shop is essentially a year round craft store, with all the crafters' materials. Jewelry, pottery, leather, textiles, fine art, and even some food items - chocolate, honey, jams, and teas.
What do your customers love?
That we have well made and attractive items made nearby. They like that we are part of the community, and that they might see things in here made by their friends.
Why did you pick Sundrop Jewelry for your store?
Two main reasons - it's beautiful jewelry, and it is made in an environmentally sustainable way. When I opened the shop, one piece of advice I got was to only sell work by nice people. That is especially true here.
